Another fairly tough one. What aircraft is this the front office too?


Time for a clue on this one. This aircraft has a certain piece of equipment that is rarely found on aircraft (To the best of my knowledge). This piece of equipment can normally be found on tanks and a certain type of naval vessel. Piece of equipement is circled in red below.

 

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Arado Ar 234. To boost defense, 20 mm MG 151 cannon were added in a tail mounting. Since the pilot had no direct view to the rear, he aimed through a periscope mounted on the cockpit roof. Most 234 pilots considered the system useless and had the guns removed to save weight.
