She's a little beauty, but I'm told that 'engine-out' perfomance (single), is "marginal"

Believe me, it's a real plane---a fighter plane no less---armed and dangerous and having a "respectable performance" for its era. It had another advantage. When they saw one of these sleek beauties lumbering towards them, opposing fighter pilots were expected to double up laughing---which made them easy meat for "the Flying Hippo" (my name for this plane).

The laughing bit's a killer........

but that DFW T.28 'Floh' crashed/wrecked it's undercart on it's first outing, & nothing more happened...........

A 'one-flight-dud', with only it's 112 mph top-speed going for it !

Now, Epz' start hazarding a guess at that (currently-flying - 'for-real') Twin-tailed beauty I posted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost looks a bit like the Miles M.65 Gemini.

Yep, have to go with it being a Miles M.65 Gemini MK.1a. Found black and white photo of one in an Aeroplane Spotter from February 1946.

Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

One last one as I sign off to watch some TV. Here's one air force's idea of a strategic bomber. Can you name it?
