Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

What about this one? Nobody has managed it answer it yet.

Kind of looks like a R.S. Snargasher.

Yep, it is a R.S. 1 Snargasher or Ried and Sigrist R.S.1 heard it referred to both ways.

To be honest, that is the first side shot I have seen of this aircraft and I based my initial guess on the front angle shot I posted. You, Hornchurch and planenutfrog definitely can pick some tough to planes to identify. Keep them coming, I love being stumped, only way to learn a new plane (Ok fun way).

That is a good one there, I thought the French had the market on ugly planes. No way I am going to nail that one down in 5 minutes let alone the better part of a day or two or more. Probably would take a real pro to put a name to that one under 5 minutes. A true challange!

That really is a good one, my first hack would have to be something along the lines of a Boulton & Paul aircraft. Will definitely have to work on this one.

Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

Yep we are talking about the Boulton & Paul Bittern.

Have to add that my first clue came out of a Netherlands aircraft recognition guide from 1937. Plane was not listed, but some other Boulton & Paul aircraft were. Design similarities clued me in.

Wink Re: Quiz, Can you name this plane

No, it's not a Loire.
A little clue : It's a design from one of the biggest and most famous French companies...
