I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Loss of another veteran..

Dear Harry,

All my best wishes to you and your family. I understand how difficult it must be to respect your father's wishes. When a father and old soldier passes away, we all feel that it should be marked in some way. For each of us it is a momentous change in our lives. However, perhaps all us buddies on the Forum can help a little by thinking for a moment to imagine the bugle's last post to an old soldier.

May your father rest in peace and may your family's memories of him be a comfort.

All the best,

MoMo

Re: Loss of another veteran..

Thank you for the comments.. I wasn't close to my dad due to problems he had later in life, but as I said above, I do believe he, at the least, needs to be remembered for the contributions he gave in defending this country.. And posting his Obituary to be recognized as such was a fitting tribute to a man I hardly knew..

I am so glad that we have the caliber of people on this forum that we do..

Re: Loss of another veteran..

My condolences as well, Harry. You show great character in honoring your father despite your relationship. Too bad he never had the opportunity to learn what a great son he had.

Thank you and God speed for your service, Mr. Worthan.

Eric
