Re: Guess the Plane

Crkey FlyXwire, that link you gave has an amazing amount of info. Lots of very fascinating facts and figures.

Thanks jim! It was quite an accidental discovery of that link when I was trying very hard to find out what the doggone a/c ID type that Starman-meister had posted. Persistence
paid off very nicely!

Re: Guess the Plane

BINGO!!!
Hey, that biplane bomber picture you posted and wanted ID'ed, would that be one of those Keystone bomber designs by an obscure aero engineering firm back in the 30's???
I'll admit you really got me 'stumped' on that one!

It's the Lawson Airliner - http://www.aviationhalloffamewiscons...ees/lawson.htm

Lawson was an interesting character with his own religion (or at least altered worldview) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Lawson

Believe it or not, the "Lawsonomites" are still around. Check out their booth at Oshkosh.

That's very interesting history. Who would've thought that that a/c was a design for an airliner. He's definitely a forward-thinker and way ahead of the curve in my book.
