Absolutely Mind Blowing

You wanna see a photo that'll make your eyeballs pop-?! Check this out: http://www.airliners.net/open.file?i...=&photo_nr=104

Surely, that's got to be photoshopped. Who in the their right mind would fly that close?!?

Re: Absolutely Mind Blowing

I don't think it was photo shopped. I think that the aircraft had the 1,000 feet of seperation.

Re: Absolutely Mind Blowing

Hm, its kinda hard to gauge from the picture.

I think its real and the had more than enough separation. It's all about the viewing angle...

I agree ....it looks to be at least good seperation between the two jets.
From the ground that has to look a little scary..

Those long flights get too dull really. I admire the pilots for trying something new.

Re: Absolutely Mind Blowing

I was in the plane on the right. It actually was about 75 feet of seperation!!!!

Re: Absolutely Mind Blowing

I got a great polaroid of it, it has got to be about 2 meters.

Re: Absolutely Mind Blowing

I bet that there was 5000 feet of separation on similar flight paths in different directions. On any give clear day one can see similar pass throughs. Turns my stomach every time. The eye trick is called a matamerism.Alph

Yep, 1000 ft. The same photo is in this month's issue of Air and Space.
