Unhappy What to do with a broken heart!

Well gang this member has come to a point in his life where nothing matters anymore . I can,t sleep and scotch just does nothing to dull the pain I feel.

I greatful for my dog and cat to time things right when I need that "we are there for you nudge". The best song to cover my life is the one by The Travelling Wilburys " Congratulations"

Well life goes on so I will try to see the rainbow but it wont be easy.

Sorry to hear that. I know how you feel because I've been there too many times over a variety of reasons. The only advice I can give is to try and keep your mind as blank and empty as possible. It will at least allow you to function without feeling that vague aching pain in your chest all time.

Yes, a rainbow will come again soon mate. I lost both parents in the past 6 to 20 years and it is hard still even. Keep your head up and thumb through all those new die-cast future releases, That might bring back abit of a smile even. Good luck and Cheers!

When I lost my mom about ten years ago, I felt lost and without purpose. Those feelings lasted about two months. Then, one Saturday, I was engrossed by this hobby---some diecast plane I had just received and was researching to see what alterations it needed. So I set about to fix it and after a while, I noticed that "the empty feeling" had disappeared. Not that I have forgotten my mom----indeed she is always in my thoughts. But letting myself become absorbed in something that really interested me was the cure------ which is exactly what Mom would have wanted to happen.

Yes, very much true. Great point.

Re: What to do with a broken heart!

Sorry to hear that, YYK950. Am I missing a different post on another thread? Did you lose someone dear to you? Take care of yourself. If this has been going on for very long, perhaps you should seek help. I myself had a rather long period in my life where I was very down. Finally sought help, and, I'm happy to say, have been doing great ever since.

Re: What to do with a broken heart!

If you're depressed for more than say seven days I recommend that you see a doctor and get some medication for it. They have some good stuff these days with few side effects.

Exclamation Re: What to do with a broken heart!

Further to what Aircrafty said, give Lifeline (13 11 14) a call & chat with one of their counsellors. Its always hard to see you're way out of a rut when you're in it. Make sure you are eating properly too, one of the first things to suffer (with me anyways) is the appetite.

Now the light-hearted bit........sell me your best diecasts cheap

Re: What to do with a broken heart!

Dear YYK950, I know only too well how you must feel :
Last week, I have had confirmation my sweetheart is really gone forever...

I wish I had somebody to hide my diecasts from !!!

I used to be very shy, and had suffered for a long time from depression due to loneliness.
I have followed a long therapy, and managed to get over.
So, trust me YYK950, and NEVER loose hope : there is ALWAYS a way out !

Our hobby, and this forum (and others...) are an excellent cure.

I have always appreciated everybody's kindness here.

I am happy If in return, I can comfort a fellow plane lover in pain.
