R U a Luftwaffe Unit-designation Experten?

Ever wonder what the heck all those chevron/arrowhead emblems and wavy line thingys and vertical bars and crazy codes emblazoned on the sides of Luftwaffe fighters meant?

Well, my friends, don’t despair. Read this article and you’ll be a Luftwaffe fighter-code-and-unit-designation experten lickety-split. Enjoy! Click here: http://www.modelingmadness.com/codes/codes.htm

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Even with that article it is still confusing. I really don't see how anyone could see any of those symbols flying along at 3 to 4 hundred miles per hour in combat situations.

Rather be looking at that view from your backyard.

Wet and windy today, and its not very nice outside!

BTW Gort I have tried to study Luftwaffe markings for years and they still dont make sense. However if you look into the mindset of the German in those days you can then begin to understand things a little better, it was all a status thing.
