I was out in Los Angeles last week for a 3 day meeting at the corporate HQ. Normally, they put together some type of group team building or learning/fun activity as part of the trip out there. We were supposed to go to an Angels game, sit in a luxury box and drink and eat too much.

They couldn't get the needed tickets, however, so they took us to the fallback...air combat simulation!!!!

Most of the group was pretty PO'd to be there (even with beer and food provided) but I was in my glory! I am no fighter pilot and I pretty much suck at flight sims but I was able to defeat all comers and ended up the "Top Gun" of my group (doesn't say much for the group). It was a real neat experience to climb into one of the mock up F-16 cockpits (we were actually flying F-18's) and have the plastic bubble canopy close over top of you - not realistic at all but as close as I'll ever get. Although no one noticed, I was particularly proud of my 4 gun kills. It was a great day!
Anyone ever been out to Flightdeck in Anaheim, CA? Anything similar? I know there is a place at the Mall of America in Minneapolis but I have never been. Now that I am an ace, I may just have to try it out next time I'm up there!
