| Red Baron Fokker DR 1 Do any of you know or have images of the actual triplane he flew. I want to know what color the wheel hubs were on the last DR1 he flew thanks. I see white ones on the MB and MP versions and wonder which is right those two or the C1 version? AND VERY REALISTIC NOW. ALSO I MUST ANNOUNCE WITH GREAT EXCITEMENT THAT I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY TRANSPLANTED MY RED BARON PILOT FIGURE FROM MY MATCHBOX DR.1 TO MY CAROUSELVERSION WITH NO ILL EFFECTS. IN FACT THE C1 VERSION WITH THE SUPERB MATCHBOX PILOT IS STUNNING | |||||||||||||

| Re: Red Baron Fokker DR 1 Louie.... some where on this forum is my red baron model i made by revell. I spent weeks researching his true color of this last Fokker Dr.1 that he flew. I had alot of help from Dan San Abbott and Tim West from the Aerodrome forum. On his true colors...My model is as close as your ever gonna get on MVR tri plane. The wheel covers were not white but red as well. MVR never had white wheel covers or white cowl for that matter. Did you know that Fok 102/17 was never RED it was OLIVE streaking camo with a light BLUEbottom....and yet all the model companies make it red with white cowl & wheel covers. I recommened you too get a Book called "The Fokker Triplane" by Alex Imrie. He is the best well known author of many WWI aircraft books and he knows his stuff really well. JP I found them. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Red Baron Fokker DR 1 Thanks man, so the RB Dr 1 was red even underneath? I hope so because the buck stops for good at the C1 version. I want to send pics of my plane with the new MB pilot it is great and the pilot is scaled more accurately to me. Your plane is a beauty I saw your post but was unsure of it's accuracy. I think you answered my question. While I love my MB version it will be relegated to bottom rear shelf in lieu of the C1. I will try to post pics tonight of MB MP C1 RB Fokkers together should be fun. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Red Baron Fokker DR 1 Just for what it's worth, one of his Tripes did survive the war, and was in a museum, but was destroyed by Allied bombing in WW II. What a shame! | |||||||||||||
