I do not post this to re-open a now closed thread, but I do feel a need to respond to certain comments made in the course of the Best All-rounder Fighter thread. Out of pride, if nothing else. So I ask the admins to not delete this right away.


My remark about having the patches to prove it was a JOKE, perhaps facetious, but a joke none the less. Those who have interacted with me over the past several months should know that I tend towards jocularity when posting. I've always gotten a kick out of the guys who wear flight jackets with more patches than material showing.

I also understand that some here do not get jokes and are not lighthearted as a general rule.

Therefore, just to clarify, my remark about MiG-29s being grounded in Iraq was meant as a lighthearted quip. Same with my comment about the patches proving anything. Same with my comment about the B-2 being outgunned. Yes, FVD, I knew what you meant to say. I was just having a little fun with you, that's all.
