Model stores in Europe.

Fellas-

I'm planning a trip to Europe this summer, where I will be covering several countries in a 2-week period. Does any one know of good model stores in the following cities:

1) London
2) Paris
3) Munich
4) Salzburg
5) Rome

Thanks for your inputs.

Not sure about model stores Fly Navy 75, but when you're near the incredibly beautiful city of Salzburg (stay in the Old Quarter if you can) you should arrange for a trip across the border to "Eagle's Nest/Kehlsteinhaus" - it will be an experience that you're unlikely to ever forget, almost beyond compare .

Four Capital cities and one major city in two weeks.
You won't be seeing much then as each city deserves at least four days each let alone model stores.

Re: Model stores in Europe.

If you arrive in London via Heathrow, the Sheraton Skyline houses the Collector's Aircraft Models (CAM) shop, which has a huge selection. However, be warned: prices are outrageous at the 2-to-1 exchange rate. But if you just want to look, I'd recommend it.

I'm sorry I don't know of any good diecast stores in the other cities, even though I 've been to all many times (in Paris, there are a couple of military book stores that also have some diecast, but limited selection. There are however several very large plastic-kit stores, if you are interested). I guess I've gotten used to getting my stuff on-line back in the States, what with the prices here being so high.

Oh, and datacroft: that's only three capital cities...

Talking Re: Model stores in Europe.

In Paris, I suggest you to visit EOL. They have 3 shops on the boulevard St Germain : 1 devoted to RC modelling, another to plastic modelling, and a third to diecast. (they have a web site)

There are also two excellent specialized bookshop to visit : La maison du livre aviation, 75 boulevard Malesherbes (they have some Corgi, Dragon, Armour, Herpa, Western Models...), and Armes et Collections, Avenue de la République (21st Century in stock). (Both have a web site)

Have a good trip !

Yes, Planenutsfrog, these are the two book stores I always go to when in Paris. Armes et Collections also has quite a few Forces of Valor items, and many 1/6 military figures.

I didn't know about the EOL stores, though... I'll look them up.

Re: Model stores in Europe.

Thanks, PNF. I'll definitely add it to my itinerary. Thanks also for those of you who suggested the Eagle's Nest. I was thinking about taking the bus down from Salzburg, but now it's definitely on my itinerary.
