Don't do what BDE tells you to do. Do what BDE would want you to do.

Re: Which WW2 plane (s) would you like to own?

Jim,
Yeah, okay, you are forgiven. The Spitfire is mighty pretty and I don't think there was ever a more graceful plane.

However, you are officially on double secret probation so you better watch it!

Does it help or hinder my rehabilitation to tell you I have just bought the 1/48 P40 Rusty. (Am I in more trouble because its plastic)?

BTW many thanks are due to Flyxwire for the help.

God Bless America.

Well thats a varied choice Fileasfog, The Sunderland would be great for taking forum members off to the seaside for a day out.
Defiant! That one you must explain. I can see that the Poly would be fun.

God Bless America.

Cav, have you posted details or pics of your grandfather's Mustang? Inquiring minds would like to know. My grandfather was in Artillery. I built him a 1/35 scale model of a 155mm Howitzer when I was a teenager, but I never liked "tubes" as much as planes. I'd love to hear about the details.

Would love a Spitfire, P-40 (any type), ME-109K, ME-262, ME-110, ME-163 Komet, F4F Wildcat and a HE-162. And a Do-334 in I could find one.

Talking Re: Which WW2 plane (s) would you like to own?

Let's have a dream...

So, strictly WW2 :

1) A genuine FW190A (not a Flugzeug Werke replica !) or Macchi MC205 ;

2) A Fairey Firefly or A26B Invader (fully armed like Nimrod 48's Mosquito, there would be a job to do on the Elysée... ).

Immediate post-war :

1) Lavotchkine La 9/11 or Hawker Tempest II or Sea Fury FB11 ;

2) Spitfire MK 22/24 or F4U7 Corsair or F8F Bearcat.

Plilkarpov is compact, easy to parc, and beautifull but there is only one seat.
The defiant has 2 and If I had a kid, he would love to be in the turret. This being said, I am not terribly fond of the model itself.

I should add a Mitchell to my list. Fast and spacious.

I love Polikarpov
