Re: The Very Best Yet Made

The fokker D7 and Sopwith Camel are long over do thats for sure...
It be nice to see Corgi release a few of them as well after their debut with the
other WWI fighter this fall.

Yes, I'm sure they'll do fine job on them. Hopefully they are using their Swordfish as a example for design/quality standards.

And the prices look like they'll be better than C1, which is good.

Re: The Very Best Yet Made

Thank heaven for Corgi's price. Hope it stays lower than C1's. About the Hallmark planes.... They did 2 Fokker Dr.1's, 2 Spads, and a variety of historic types. Those are the only bipes though. They exceeded MB only in rigging. C1 gives you all around quality of mfr. I sold of my HLF Dr.1's because I found them a little bigger or clunkier than MB. If you want to add a dash of glossy color with pilots and rigging for the price the Model Power 1/48 Dr.1's can be found easily and have the tripes that the most famous German WW1 aces flew. The Flying circus planes were quite striking in appearance.

Re: The Very Best Yet Made

I have an Albatross and SE5a on order with the Mule, (along with the Bong P 38..I can be VERY patient). Can't wait to get them...in theory coming the end of this year, but who really knows.

Re: The Very Best Yet Made

Too bad the other nice Albatross in in that hugely over=priced set. Oh well the regular issues look sweet. Looks like The Swordfish and GMP P-40 have won the most hearts and minds.

Well, one can argue about which of the top 4 or 5 on the list is truly "the best", but it is still interesting that out of the hundreds of model available out there, we were still able to narrow it down with a pretty good degree of certainty.
