Re: The Very Best Yet Made

I would have to say mine is the GA P-51B 'Ding Hao'.

Not an easy decision, but I have to agree with Cavtanker - GA's "Ding Hao' is superb imho.

My repaint of Dragons P-51D to make it Old Crow. But as far as OOB goes, I like the Dragon VF-27 Hellcat with cat mouth.

Re: The Very Best Yet Made

My favorite is the Century F-14A VF-84 Jolly Rogers 200. I don't have any missiles on her, but she looks like she just rolled out of the factory to film Final Countdown.

Gotta love Corgi's Swordfish and Gladiators, and their Falklands 809 Squadron Sea Harrier is another favorite, but this Tomcat is the sexiest thing in diecast.

Re: The Very Best Yet Made

Since you asked for "best" and not "favorite" ... the GMP P-40, either the Longhorn or Old Exterminator -- I have both and it's a toss up as to which is "better" . Personally, I like the Longhorn scheme better... but they are both well-made, though I belive the LH has the corrected tailwheel, so I guess that puts it over the top :-)

Re: The Very Best Yet Made

To use a quote from Moonstruck: "Ya gotta love 'em, Loretta." I love 'em all. Remember Jerry Maguire: "If you don't have it here [pointing to the heart], this doesn't matter [pointing to the head--brain."]

What is "best," Louie? I guess, in UK terms, accuracy, in all details.

I don't know how accurate, but of all my planes (including my 1:45 Spec-Cast Baby Duck), it has to be

Dragon P-47 SAUCY SUSIE!

"What's that, dear? Come to bed? It's late?" [that's my wife--Susie--telling me I have been up too long, at the computer]

G'night, all!

Re: The Very Best Yet Made

I loved a girl named Susie once. No twice!

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: The Very Best Yet Made

Hmmm, this is indeed a bit difficult but for myself I would have to go with the Carousel 1 FW 190D. These are the models that made me decide 1/48 is my favorite scale and has severly curtailed my purchases of 1/72. Beautiful, accurate and a complete winner in my book.

Re: The Very Best Yet Made

Really tough one. I have so many planes that I think are really good (along with a few lemons too)

I'm torn between one of my Swordfish for 1/72 or either the Grumpy 1/32 spit or the Erler yellow 13 1/32 109. Really tough. but if I consider everything I would have to pick just one I would give it to the Grumpy Spit.

Ooops!
