Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

Personally, I don't collect scales, I collect airplanes

So my collection is a hodgepodge of 1:72, 1:48, 1:35, 1:32, 1:100, and the odd-scale Speccast and Gearbox stuff. I have the most 1:72 stuff, followed by 1:48...

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

I voted 1/48, although I have many other scales in my collection. Kind of like Pappy said, I collect airplanes (and tanks) so I'll go for what's available.

But 1/48 is clearly my favorite and I always look for subjects in that scale first before looking at others (that applies to amor as well, althogh here I have to say 1/48 or 1/50). Example: knowing the T-6 will be coming out soon in 1/48 (EA) clearly will prevent me from buying the HM 1/72 version, as good as it might be.

1/72 works for me all the time when I consider my available shelf space.

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

Primarily I collect 1/72 WWII planes. That's the theory anyway. While most of my collection is 1/72, I also have 1/32, 1/144, 1/100, 1/400 and 1/35 (1st one still to be delivered). Only recently I aquired two SAA 1/400 Gemini Jets and was very impressed with them so I'm on the hunt for a few more South African Airways jets. I also have tanks in 1/72 primarily and in 1/32 and 1/35. How did I get into diecast? 1/18 scale UT Porsches. Could find enough of them and switched to 1/72 planes.

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

My primary collection is 1/72, with 1/32 coming in a close second.. I also have a smattering of 1/48, 1/18, and 1/144 but not enough to really matter..

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

The majority of my aircraft collection is in 1:72, and it is about evenly split between my 1:48 and 1:32 models. Armor is even between 1:72 and 1:50.

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

For planes 1/72 for military, 1/400 for civilian.

But I buy a lot more 1/1250 ships than planes.
