Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

Very good poll buddy. I like 1/48th scale first, but I don't limit to scales anymore. Let's just say that if they make a nice P-39 in the same markings in both 1/48th and 1/72nd that I would buy the 1/48th first.

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

My primary collection is 1/72, with 1/32 coming in a close second.. I also have a smattering of 1/48, 1/18, and 1/144 but not enough to really matter..

Hworth18, when it comes to 1/48 there is no such thing as "not enough to really matter" .

Quality is what counts, not quantity - you only need a few Carousel 1 FW190Ds/Bf109Es and EI P51Bs for a collection to be worthwhile ...

Budget and space keep me in 1/72!

I'm with easy8 on this, same for me (though with a number of exceptions....) Mostly 1:72

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

Most of my models are 1/72 scale. This scale allows me to put many models on display.

Keep'em flying.

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

My bigger scale i.e. 48th, 32nd and 35th (combined) now far outnumbers my 72nd collections. Like Pappy and FVD I only collect airplanes period!
Space hasn't been a problem so far as I have all my models spread out in my house, plus I am very selective as to what I buy from now onwards so
that I wouldn't amass a large collection in a hurry.

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

I chose 1/48th as well, even though I place myself firmly in the same camp as those who collect aircraft rather than scales..If it's a subject I want and it looks good, I'll buy it....I usually keep my display areas segregated by scale, but occasionally when I'm feeling particularly naughty I'll even mix 'em up!

Re: What kind of a Collector are you?

My collection is 100% 1:72. I like the consistency of one scale.

Fighters in 1/48, bombers in 1/72.

Same with me. If it's not 1/72 scale then I don't even consider buying it no matter how nice. I like things consistent - it's a teacher thing. Space and cost are primary concerns as well as the fact that all my plastic models were 1/72 scale.
