I agree that be a good way to make a movie.......Clint Eastwood did pretty well with both the WWII movies last year.

Over twenty years after it came out, I still love that movie.

On the other hand, "The Few" sounds like it has the potential to be really bad for those who are picky about historical facts. But then I did enjoy "300" even if it had little to do with the actual battle of Thermopylae, so... The only qiestion is whether the movie will be marketed as "historical" in nature, or just pure fiction loosely based on one historical character.

Agreed, FVD! The Few done like "300" would rock!

As for the "Iron Eagle" Trilogy, the only things I've enjoyed were all the warbirds (Israeli F-16s, F-4s, Kfirs from I & II) and the WWII warbirds in III flying in those
films. Everything else was a waste of time.

Top Gun...the first movie I ever bought...I think I happily paid around $25.00 for it in 1987. It was that "cheap" because it had a Pepsi commercial at the beginning of it...

Even if the Fiske Movie is not accurate, it will get people interested in the BoB. Once people get interested, they may look a little deeper and find out a few more facts.

The fact that Fiske did not score a kill does not detract from him. Simply by being in the fight, he may of enabled another RAF pilot to have some free space to make a kill.

I for one believe that they should do a film about the "Eagle Squadron" instead of "The Few." It is a far better choice if you really want to showcase a much livelier bunch of aviators who also served in the RAF. At least most of these american fighter pilot, members of ES have very colorful background and made their marks in history: such as Dom Gentile, Gabby Gabreski, Don Blakeslee...who later became high-scoring ACES in the 4th and 56th fighter squadrons.

The two biggest mistakes in Top Gun are listed in my signature. I for one like the movie. And by the way Top GUn won the vote as the most requested movie to watch at Theatre in the Woods at EAA Air Venture.
