Pardon if the link to this site has been put on here before, I stumbled across this today, great color plates of Luftwaffe Pilots...although the language appears to be Chinese...still great visuals. I have seen that site before and it's a great site for a modeler to see what markings a plane had.
To bad it's not in english where you could understand it.

Yes, AF Wing site has been around a long time, and I have the site bookmarked. The owner have compiled a very comprehensive archive of images of various military aviation artwork and illustrations. I always come back to it when I get bored looking at other sites similar to it.
