Combat Flight Sim Games

I'd like to find a good combat flight sim game to play when I'm traveling. Can anyone make any suggestions? I've ordered MS Flight Simulator X, but I'd like to get a good combat game too. I got excited about the soon to be released "Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation" (shown below) but apparently it's only coming out on XBOX 360. I need something that I can play on my laptop.

Man, I'd be surprised if your laptop can handle FSX , unless it's of the "desktop replacement" category..

Try the new IL-2 1946, as it includes all of that series of combat sims and will be friendly to your PC, and Combat Flight Simulator III (make sure to patch it!) .. Lock-on's a good bet for modern stuff, too.

As with Pappy, I recommend IL-2 1946. There's a huge community out there, so it is easy to find mods for the game.

Ditto PappyB and Cavtanker: IL-2 1946. As an added bonus, it's cheap, and the 450+ page plane guide will give you something to read on long flights.

Re: Combat Flight Sim Games

I play Warbirds 2006. The offline game is okay, but the online action is AWESOME!

IL-2 1946 is definitely the best WWII combat sim currently available ... you won't be disappointed .
