Re: Spring Wonderland

Some years ago they had ranking contest that dealt with a persons form/dress/and the like. If you really want to rank someones family you'd say "your Dads mom was so UGLY it made your ancestors Cry"! Or the grand mother was so raunchy that she Breaks Wind In the kitchen during Thanks giving!!!!!Alph

Hey, Jim, we use that expression too! In Scots, it sounds ruder :

" She has a face like a well-skelped * arse! "

( " skelp " to slap/smack, Scots. Origin unknown )

You'll all be delighted to note that the weather here is improving. It is now 60+ after a little glitch last week which saw the weather become overcast and much colder.

I don't think that we've seen any snow in the Clyde valley. Perhaps we had sleet for about 10 minutes, but that's as radical as we experienced.

SPRINGTIME

Have the bears come out of the caves?
Are the birdies twittering in the trees?
Have the skunks come out to play?
Is there blossom on the breeze?

We'd like to say it's summer now,
Let's just skip spring, enjoy the sun.
But lo, that's white on Skunk's lawn,
Merry Christmas, everyone!

The woodland fauna cry demented,
Boo-hoo, boo-hoo, they all lamented.
It's crazy like a box of frogs,
The weather's going to the dogs!

Don' worry, boys, a brave skunk roars,
We soon will see the forest floors.
I've hired a fleet of F14s,
They'll buzz my yard until it greens.

Hip, hip, hoorah the animals cheer,
Deer leap and bound and jump with joy.
The rabbits dance while bears all leer,
Let's just eat Skunky, where's the beer!

Ah, the joys of spring. Anyone else moved to poetry?

Re: Spring Wonderland

Amazing! MoMo posted his poem (very nice, very creative, by the way!) almost four hours ago, and the Skunkster has not chimed in yet? Is he sick?

No. Bears ate him for lunch, with a nice chiante. Mmmm!

Re: Spring Wonderland

Come to think of it, I haven't seen Skunky here for a few days, even with a number of posts regarding the fellow poster's love of Corgi 1:72 Mustangs......

Re: Spring Wonderland

Skunky's appeared to have gone AWOL ... anyone have an idea where he's disappeared to (perhaps Gort took him on his flying saucer to a galaxy far, far away - or was that Shrek 2 ).

Nope – twernt me, Cardinal. It took the better part of a year to deodorize Skunky's – shall we say – fragrance last time he took a joy ride in this saucer. Ain't gonna happen again, by cracky!
