Why I've been absent

I'm sorry that I haven't been around posting any pics lately. I roasted my ankle a couple of weeks ago in a basketball game. The injury has put me on crutches and I've had to take some time off. I'm doing much better now and 'll try to get caught up this weekend. I also have new pictures of our Texan products that you might find interesting.

For all of you that are as sick as me I just took a picture of my ankle to share with you. My ankle used to be about four times this size and almost completely black. It's regained most of it's color, but the ankle, leg, and foot are still a bit swollen as you can see.

I have to say I'm going to miss being waited on hand and FOOT for the last two weeks.

Re: Why I've been absent

Aye, I've had many the same generally due to baseball and softball and with softball starting up again - if the rainouts and snowouts, believe it or not, end soon - I fear I could be joining you. Luckily, I am an IT guy and work at my home office every day so some things never change. LOL

Oh good! It's the one medication that I always have in the house.

Re: Why I've been absent

Ouch! That looks bad.

This is the reason I gave up on basketball and soccer (football to those of you of the British persuasion) a few years ago. But then again, I broke my collarbone in February training on my race bicycle for a triathlon, so... If it's not one thing it's another, I guess.

Get well soon, Mark. The forum wasn't the same without you.

Re: Why I've been absent

Done both ankles and one knee playing basketball. After the knee I was semi-retired for about six years. Took about four of those years for the knee to totally recover. Basketball is a lot of fun but it really is a young mans game. Now I'm sticking to hiking and walking the dog.

Black and 4 times that size huh? I had one of those ankles once. I hobbled around for about 2 months. Take it easy next time, okay? Glad to have you back.

Re: Why I've been absent

I was playing high school football and was hit on the knee by an teamates helmet during a play, it pulled my knee out of place. My buddies helped me off the field and oneof them told me he knew how to pop it back into place, and did so. I told him that I did not want to go to the hospital. Now almost 10years later on cold nights it still bothers me.

Re: Why I've been absent

Best wishes Mark! As everyone is sharing their stories, my knees and left ankle got so bad due to arthritis that I have had them replaced. Thank God for modern medicine.

Re: Why I've been absent

(Ara looking at Mark's ankle, wife walks in the room)

Wife: "What are you looking at?"

Me: "Well I was expecting pictures of a Texan, if you want to know the truth."

Wife: "And who exactly is this Texan?"
