NOT an attempt to continue the "closed" discussion...

...but I did just want to post this BEFORE that discussion ended.

I consider everyone on this board a friend, even though we have never met in person. No matter what anyone posted in the "Latino..." thread, I would buy them a drink ANY day. Additionally I thought the dialogue was actually good. My guess is that issue effects me more than some on this board. I didn't take anything personally and I hope no one took anything I said as a personal attack.

I just wanted to put this out there as personal closure and hopefully there were/are no hard feelings. (Again, none were taken by me.)

Again - no continuation of that discussion/perspective here.

Take care,
Doug

Re: NOT an attempt to continue the "closed" discussion...

I think that online conversations, especially in the forum format, are much different from those had in person largely due to the pace. I mention this because I think that if a group of us were to sit down around a table and discuss some of these issues that it would be far less combative. Sometimes on a forum our thoughts can hang in the air too long creating a much different impression than they would if shared in person. This is one reason why I hate it when controversial discussions are had on the forum. I know that I come off having a much harder edge online than I do in person, this is also due to the fact that I absolutely hate to type.

Please don't mistake my aggravation, or that of the rest of the staff, as any form of disregard for the subject matter or for the opinions of the thread's participants. It's the knowledge that no matter how easy it should be to have a civil conversation about these subjects the forum's format is not conducive to such an outcome.

No joke! I was mumbling to myself why I was such a daft fellow and then I went and read the thread I had fallen away from earlier.

Everything is cyclical.

Now, how about a link to a pic?

I made the decision to mention the ficticious B-36 diecast because I thought others would appreciate a bit of a break in the fairly serious discussion.

Kinda how Mike Jackson introduced dancing to the two gangster leaders in the video Beat It.

Although I'm bald. And best not be dancing.
