To my fellow diecasters: If everyone thought about being kind first, before we left our doors in the morning, then maybe one day we wouldn't have to lock those doors. I haven't taken any replies to this (my original) post personally.

I do appreciate Canucklehead's post - I think it was to stop us from going into the areas of the thread that has been closed and the potential of mis-taken posts.

I think we could have a very good dialogue with this subject. To be honest, I understand where everyone is coming from in the things that have been posted (to BOTH discussions). I have a lot I could add in a civilized/discussion/non-person attack type of way.

But...this probably isn't the place (even though I'd rather discuss this non-diecast subject with you guys than about anyone else ) Also, since I am slow and hate to type - there's no way I would want to continue this discussion by indiviidual PM/Email.



I'll go ahead and add this - as it is part of my reply to a very thoughtfull personal PM I received:

"Honestly, life for us [my family] has been REALLY good ever since we met and for the past 18+ years. (Except for a difficult time with my parents durring the first 3 years of our marriage - but that has been worked through in a good way - even though it still may not be perfect.)

The 2 incidences in my post, I think show how RACE in the US is just always present and under the surface. While things (personally for us) are overwhelmingly good and we are accepted at church, by friends, in public etc.- the Immus thing or a flyer on the driveway - just shows how race/ethnicity/prejudice does or can matter in America...."



Again, my original post wasn't to get "sympathy" for me/my family or a "congratulations" for living the dream (but that was nice!). We made our choices and bear all the costs and benefits (which there are WAY more of) for our marital decision. My intent was just to show a couple things that have happened and show that people see things differently - i.e. myself and my wife; etc. - meaning WE don't see things alike a lot of the time, but it works for us.

Sorry about lying about the B-36. The plus side of it is I've been asked by Corgi to design a feasability study for the bird. They were interested in my research and I told them where to go.
