Re: New Additions to Your Collection

A.A. looks like you'll have to display them on a 'Rotational' basis (?)

I've seen the B.24-'D' "The Squaw" at my local stockist (though the box was tatty & the clear-plastic 'cover' split/shattered, presumably 'in-transit' (?) allowing dust to settle on the 'new' model (sadly).

I LOVE it & after the current 'Glut' of 'sale' stuff, may yet still buy it !

Any chance you can post numerous "close-up's" (pix) of "The Squaw" - PLUS, some pictures of that S.E.A.C. (RAF) P.47 Thunderbolt, as I'm seriously toying with the idea of picking one of those up - ????????????

I'd be grateful - for, as you know; there are ONLY 'cartoon' type pix of these products floating around, so, unless ya see 'em "in the flesh", the potential 'buyer' doesn't know just how good (or 'Bad') they are ????????

Hornchurch, fortunately not yet. Currently I am not displaying all models I have (some Eurofighters and A-10s are still in their respective boxes) but since I bought a additional display cabinet this weekend I probably will do so soon.

Yeah, I was real lucky and only paid a measly amount of $ for it.

I will do an update of my collection pics maybe tonight and I will snap some pics of the two models for you.

Yeah, I know the problem! That's why I check them out "in the flesh" first.

Cheers,
AA

Re: New Additions to Your Collection

Thanks a Zillion, Trex !!!!!!!!! Lovely pix, mate !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting so many shots/angles on your prev'-post.

The 'seam'-'fuselage' joint looks PARTICULARLY-GOOD on your example.

I'm gonna have to get this (sigh) - just so many Bargains around at the moment though, causing distraction.

Trex, if you or Armour-Addict (cheers for the offer, guy) could post pix of the
S.E.A.C. P.47 Thunderbolt, I'd be grateful (again)......

Skunky's right - Praise The Lord we're "T.N." snapz-'free'-zone here !!!!!!!!

Re: New Additions to Your Collection

Dang -- first post on this thread in more than a month...

I know there's been lots of trading and reselling among Hangars-on lately; is no one buying new models right now? (I'm looking at you. You know you bought Hobby Master's latest Bf-110 and picked up a new Century Wings release last week.)

In any case: I picked up Dragon's new B-17G, Silver Lady (DRW51004), a few days ago. It's not quite on a par with their B-29, but it is a lot better than their B-17F and certainly better, IMHO, than Corgi's B-17. Dragon's B-17F models have an oddly unfinished look to me -- like they are escaped pre-pros -- that is thankfully missing from the B-17G model. I'm not sure why -- I don't think Dragon retooled their basic B-17 mould. Maybe it just looks better in the bare metal finish. In any case, the fit is good and the finish is very good. Good job on the turrets and the undercarriage, and the open/closed bomb bay doors are easy to swap out (not my experience with my Dragon B-29). The fit and finish on the cowlings could be a little better, and the "clear" plastic nose is actually a little opaque, probably to hide the understandable lack of any interior detail in the 1:144 scale plane. To me it just looks like the piece has aged, though.

Still, it's a good model. 8/10 and worth picking up if, like me, you've been waiting for a decent 1:144 B-17.

Nrrrm! Whoosh! Rat-tat-tat!

Re: New Additions to Your Collection

Well, as has been noted on other threads (but I'll make it official here) I bought the HM Brewster Buffalo and an HM Avenger at the big sale not too long ago, and of course the GMP Scott P-40 with diorama off Ebay more recently.

Re: New Additions to Your Collection

Been on a bit of a roll the last week

CW F-14 VF 154 NF100
CW A-7 VA 82 AJ300 - funny thing is I ordered and was billed for a A-6 VA 35 AJ500, got the A-7 instead, contacted the seller and the told him I like the A-7 and will keep it, but still want an A-6 so it will be in the mail Monday with free postage.

Corgi Preditors FAA Avenger
Corgi P-51B Shangri-La

HM F6F-3 White 9 , not sure why I bought this except the price was right
HM P-39 MkI - County of London

Plus I had an air brush kit given to me as an Easter present, so time for some mods. Thinking of turning the HM Greek 104 in to a CAF camo scheme. Will have to find some pics to go by.
