Post man dropped of Corgi AA32506 Junkers Ju 87B-2 Stuka S1+GK II./St.G1 North Africa 1941. Finally have all the Corgi North Africa Ju 87s.

Picked up HM's P-39Q "Devastating Devil" (HA1702) for $22 at Burbank's House of Hobbies a few days ago. A good model for the price.

Pros: The model itself is crisp and the colors are good. The exhaust stubs are well done, IMHO. I dig the tan scheme and red-outlined insignia, so I'm glad this is one of their first P-39 releases. The stand is sturdy and fits well, although it precludes fitting on the supplied centerline drop tank or bomb.

Cons: The tabs affixing the canopy to the fuselage are pretty prominent. But mostly: The inked panel lines! They're pretty dark. At least they're applied evenly and precisely. Perhaps an engine oil reddish-brown would've worked better with this scheme? Must panel line inking always be done in black?

The model comes with a pilot figure attired in brown, but I'm not a fan of the plastic figures so I didn't try fitting it into the cockpit (which, by the way, is nicely done). Also, because I've placed the model on the stand I didn't try fitting on the landing gear and I can't say if the model's a tail-sitter or not. The closed landing gear doors fit well and stay with a touch of museum putty.

I'm happy with it: 7 out of 10. Worth getting on the cheap.

Not a diecast, but I got P-38 Lightning Aces of the Pacific and CBI in the mail today. It just fuels my demand for more Corgi P-38s!

UPS dropped off a Dragon Me 262B-1a Red 10 10./NJG 11 Germany 1945 model today. It came from Aikens, so there was also some candy from the nice folks there.

I've been waiting for some parcels and after getting a final notice for a parcel checked both post offices in my area. Four parcels. After smuggling them in and being caught out the following has landed.
