I am also truly sorry you lost a good friend. It was nice that he also had you to share his stories with as so many of that generation had few who showed they cared to hear how they felt. War is a terrible thing but it can really bring out the best in some men. It is wonderful that you honored him with a model and he gave you something you will treasure all your days. If he could talk to you right now he would not say "goodbye" he would probably just say "see you later". I also hope his family will be o.k.

Hey Louie thanks. When Waltz was over my place, he saw the pic of him and his crew with their PBJ. Kind of a cool story, but when we were rebuilding the PBJ for the Naval Museum in Pennsacola, we needed pics of some of the PBJ's. He let me have a couple to figure out the paint scheme. When we painted it we painted it as his ship. This is the very PBJ that is in the museum today.
