Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Some folk are daft, Captain. The point is, no matter how stupid you are, our Country will look after you. That is a good thing.

Now you know why the world and its uncle are beating a path to our door!

Beating a path to YOUR door? We've got......Oh, never mind!

It's true, Captain Eddie.

If you fetch up on our shores, you will be housed and given benefits if your case as a Political Refugee is proved. If your case is not proved or pending, it will take an army of legislators to remove you. You will still be kept by the State.
Most economic migrants, however, just want to merge into the background and work in the Black Economy until they can establish themselves.
Whatever they do, it's better than rotting in some God-forsaken dump where human talent and ingenuity have no fertile ground to root on.

That's how America was built!

Maybe Captain can be a diecast refugee, maybe claim his life is in danger from an outraged wife?
Well I would let him in no probs.

Hey Mo maybe we could set up a diecast sanctuary.

God Bless America.

Gee, thanks, Jim! My wife has been giving me the "evil eye" lately........ Good to know I'd have a friend to turn to!

PS I've always wanted to visit dear old England.

I feel that a refuge for Diecast Bankrupts from the colonies would be a good thing. At the rate at which everyone appears to be spending their hard-earned moolah on lumps of metal and plastic, it won't be long before outraged wives and girlfriends force the issue!

Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Just back from the Sticks.

It rained solidly for three days! We are not subjected to flooding in the same way as the people in Yorkshire and other places in England have been, but it has been the worst summer for rain for about 90 years....and it ain't over yet!

Global Wetting!

I've read that in the USA they are experiencing really wet weather too. This does not sound too good!

Not in my part...We could take some off your hands,MoMo.....It's been so dry here I can put my lawn mower away for the season already. Everybody's lawn is burned up like it's early September.....I'm kind of enjoying it though, as I hate mowing the lawn.

Skunky

Wilco, Skunky,
we're sending you a whole rainy month. Starting next week the British Government is hiring about 12 Shamens from various Native American tribes to perform a " Rain-Go-Away " dance which will be performed in the gardens of number 10 Downing Street.

The Shamens will be instructed to make the rainclouds turn towards the West and to dump tons of rain on the USA. Get your umbrellas ready!

Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Last night, the weather news guy did a detailed resume of the weather situation in the USA. It looks as if you guys could do with some rain in the west. The News was running a story about all the old folk in the States who had to spend their afternoons in air-conditioned Civic Centres to survive remperatures of 100 degrees during the day. It must be hell at night too!

We continue to experience a summer which has been put on hold. Cool and wet and mild.
