I agree with all of you but dont agree with any of you either!,

Do any of you think that China really gives a hoot?

Nah not really, they have your jobs they have your money, soon they will have complete economic dominance over you, me, and Mo.

Budapest is a great place to visit. Great Military Museum on Castle Hill ( next to the Hungarian National archives ). Great displays of Austro-Hungarian uniforms and weapons. Liked the Hussars' uniforms.....a very classy war with Napoleon as the tailor !

Great displays of models of all the WW2 stuff which the Germans supplied to the Hungarian army. Lots of ex-Chekoslovakian equipment. I saw a great display surrounding a Schwimmwagon. Also a 75 mm AT gun. Lots of WW2 German uniforms and field equipment and their Hungarian variants.

There is also a poignant display of artifacts and weapons from the 1956 uprising, reminding us what happens when you underestimate the bad manners of the Russian Political Establishment ( in any era )

Budapest is changing fast. Lots of repairs and reconstruction, as well as new builds. However, if you wander off into the back streets you can still find lots of buildings peppered by bullets from '45 and '56 ! Lots of militaria about too. But mostly post-war repro or genuine fakes.

Food is good, cheap and plentiful, if you like a Germanic diet of saurcraut and sausage. There are lots of ethnic outlets too ( and, of course, Big Macs ). Goulash...good !

The Railway museum is a must. Great place.

Walking along the street is an experience. Great buildings and cafes to take breaks in.

Cheers,

MoMo

Wow! it's the weekend, it's sunny, and everyone is out enjoying the weather. Last time this happened it was 1939 and you know what happened then ! ( just been watching the World at War ! )

Let's hope that the sun lasts.

We're paying for it now. The whole of the Yuck is bathed in sunshine, it's monday, and Glasgow has been shrouded in cloud...all day !

Now, this is what I call real exam weather. When students sit for their exams here, the tradition is that there will be a mini-heatwave which lasts until the Art exam takes place, then the heavens open and Noah shuts up shop.

It was good while it lasted.

Unhappy Re: Nice Things to Talk About

The prices of the latest Dragon 1.72 AFVs has gone up again. As costs go up in China, so do the costs to us. Models which started the year at £10.00 are now arriving in the U.K. at £14.00 retail for the latest offerings.

Have members experienced a similar price rise in Aircraft ?

Talking Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Thanks Smartd.

Gotta go get ready for the BIG GAME ! Glasgow Rangers are playing the Russian team Zennit tonight in the final of the UEFA CUP. 120,000 Rangers fans from all over the world have arrived in Manchester to soak up the atmosphere despite the reality that only 27,000 fans who have tickets will be the only ones who will see the game in the stadium. The rest will watch the game on giant screens, set up in all the huge public areas in Manchester.

This competition is ' the other' big Euro Tournament. Zennit's biggest fan is Putin, so I hope we win, big-time ! Also Zennit's fans are the most racist in the world ! Their manager, Dick Advocat ( who once managed Rangers ) says that he cannot buy black players because the Russian once fans put on monkey suits and threw bananas at a signing of a black player which he had made. This was seen as a scandal all over Europe.

Zennit are supported by 4 huge oligarchs who ripped off the Russian State ( which is why Putin loves them ! ). Their fans are bigots and racists who are compared to neo-nazis.

Let's hope that our Scottish Team prevails and that the racists go home soundly thrashed !

Rangers are known as " The 'Gers " or, in rhyming slang, " The Teddy Bears " .

So let's hear it for The 'Gers !

Rangers play in blue and white, if you pick up the game on satellite or cable. This is as ' Badass a tie as USA V. USSR in Ice Hockey or Basketball !

I'm off to enjoy the pre-match build up, and I'm not even a Rangers fan..............I just want to see Putin look sick !
( ha-ha ! )

I used to go to Ibrox back in the old days. You will remember the teams from the 60's Shearer, Caldow, Millar, Scott, Henderson, Baxter, etc. Good days.
