Thanks for the cheers and advice guys. I am wearing the deadly compression socks and |I will take your advice Jim. They told me that drinking was out, but a teaspoonfull sounds like a tasteful panacea.

Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Being off work has given me a break from the usual, and time to do some re-reading. I'm almost finished Paul Brickhill's account of 617 Squadron's war exploits. I read it years ago, but lots of details got lost over the years. So, reading it again, I have come to appreciate just what a brilliant bunch of guys those fellows were.

Apart from the terse retelling of what is really Guy Gibson's account of the Dambusters Raid ( with contributions from many others ), he does a good job of writing the history of the squadron in a very matter-of-fact style, which anyone may appreciate even after more than 50 years in print.

Barnes Wallis's wartime experiences are intertwined with 617's story. The bouncing bombs, the Tallboys, the Grand Slams, the attacks on canals, V2 and V3 sites, The Tirpitz, etc. all make fascinating reading.

All this has prompted me to watch " The Dam Busters " again.

Now I am really angry at the post-war British government which mean-spiritedly refused to give out campaign medals in recognition of the courage and determination of the crews of Bomber Command, and in tribute to the 50,000 who never came back. It's high time we did something to rectify this.

THIS IS A BLOODY NATIONAL DISGRACE !

I know several people that follow the whiskey regime every morning, it really does work for clogged arteries. (it makes the blood thinner and stops blood clots).

However thats all you are allowed, one tablespoon!

No more ciggies for you old boy, and you will have to leave off the old Saturday night fry up.

However sex is supposed to be good for the circulation!

God Bless America.

No, we are going to need a few more minutes of racy, innuendo-filled dialogue before demeaning footage of you getting arrested.

Skunky, I heard you got arrested in LA. Did the LAPD live up to their motto and "treat you like a King"?
