Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Well, we're off for a few more days in the country. I hope that the weather is nicer than a week ago and that the rain holds off long enough for me to be able to step out of the car to admire the beautiful scenery in Galloway. On a clear day you can see the Irish Antrim coast.

We may take this opportunity to hop on the ferry to Ireland, so if I come upon any diecast, I'll let you know.

Also, the fifth stage of the war against slugs is about to jump off. While the rain only encourages them, I struggle hard to deter the wee buggers. The mighty, green slug-machine is about to transform himself into the Hulk against Slugdom!

Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Yep lack of rain completely screwed the Ski season here this year, and what snow we did have rapidly disappered due to summer like temps.

We get our water piped in from Yosemite so no snow in the mountains during the winter is a big probelm for the summer. There are already local water boards asking for mandatory 10-15% reductions in usage round here.

It's also going to make the fire season hotter than hell.

Ooops!

MoMo, the Shamens did an outstanding job!...It's been raining here the last 3 days....Please, when you see one of the Shamen, give him a squeeze for me..If anyone tells you "Don't squeeze the Shamen", just tell 'em it's from me...

You see...prayer works!

The weather has been foul here for the past couple of weeks ( except for one or two days when I got a tan ) so you guys are welcome to any rain which we can send.

I was in Edinburgh today hunting Dragons and Hobby Master 1.72 AFVs and the sun came out at 3.00 pm and suddenly it was a beautiful day. Some shamens must have been among the tourist throng in Prince's Street, under the castle, and perhaps they took pity upon us and chased the rainclouds away!

Something is wrong!

It's sunday, mid-day, and the sun is shining like crazy. I'm going to take a walk in the park, eat some ice-cream, catch a few rays then visit my Spitfire in Kelvingrove Art Galleries.

Sudenly it's summer!

I'm just back from the Botanic Gardens at the end of my street. Today is like the top picture. The last few weeks have been like the bottom picture!

If Jim is right, then we're back to scenario number two next week! ( boo-hoo ). Damn that global warming..........................and all the 4X4s!

Re: Nice Things to Talk About

MASH
I've watched the whole of seasons 1 to 4, but now I've had to skip to the last season, season 11. Of course, by this time Radar has left ( season 8, I think ) and Frank has too.

I looked up a poll on the MASH fan site and from a poll of a quarter of a million viewers 74% prefered Radar over Klinger as Company Clerk!

Why did they let him go????? Also, how and when did Frank escape from the coop?

He was on leave, was very upset about Margaret having left him and marrying someone else. He went absolutely crazy, and was admitted to a psychiatric hospital (if I remember correctly), and than was sent home to the US of A.
