Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Well, it's friday night and I'm free! A whole weekend to check out my favourite shops. I'm on the hunt for the Dragons which I know to be out there but have, thus far, escaped the net!

I've discovered a new tipple for shucking off those workday aches and pains. The Irish have developed a new, high-class cider which they call Magners. You drink it ice-cold with a chunk of ice floating in the glass, and I have to admit that it's pretty darn good! It has a nice clean taste, and is also surprisingly flavoursome. It's also very strong too. I can feel the effects of one bottle and can assure you that it is slowing down my typing!

Which brings me to my next subject......have you ever tried to type a post when you have been sampling the results of the brewing industry's finest? I ask this because sometimes some of the posts are so full of typos that they can only be explained away by speculating on how many members have staggered to the icebox to liberate another brew!

Did you guys see Lady Thatcher on the box this week? They wheeled her out to celebrate the anniversary of The Falklands War. Although I hate her guts, I have to admit that she was well on the button with some of her comments about life today. But then I thought, it's .....heads like her who are responsible for the state of my poor country today, so why should she get away with commenting on " Society ". She famously remarked, when being interviewed about the state of British Society : " There is no such thing as Society! " That brought the interview to a premature end!

Thatcher is despised by a whole generation of people who found that they had no chance of a future when she destroyed 90% of our heavy engineering industry and stuck it to the coal-miners. Beside this, her arrogant and hoity-toity manner made her no friends in the north of England, Wales and Scotland!

There are millions who are waiting for her to drop dead and they are also raffling tickets to join the queue to see who dances first on her grave!

On a happier note, only two weeks and I'll be on holiday for SEVEN WEEKS! Sometimes I think that I don't deserve it!

Yes, May is full of vacations for us. But then June has a few, and July and August are ours to play with. Don't it make you wanna spit?

I dont agree, Thatcher had her faults but millions of Brits revere her.

But then we get into politics and a Scot would never agree with an Englishman.

I tend to agree with Jim on this . Whatever your personal opinions on Margaret Thatcher, you have to admit that she had cajones and was not one to suffer fools easily ... most likely Churchill would have been supportive of her as they shared many traits.

Never link that name with box or pussy ever again, it gave me some very nasty images.

But millions more than the millions hate her!
Churchill and Thatcher would have hated one another the way that Montgomery and Patton did. They were all Prima Donnas and there is only room for one prima donna on the stage at any one time!

Now now MoMo, no one thinks you're a prima donna and there's still plenty of room on the stage for you ...
