Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Who remembers " Gigantor"?

My mate Harvey is still trying to remember the gigantor song!

Premiering in the mid-’60s, Gigantor blazed a trail for Japanese animation. The first of many shows featuring friendly giant robots, it achieved a distinctive look with cinematic touches and unusual camera angles. Gigantor is controlled by Jimmy Sparks, the son of his creator. Using a remote control joystick, Jimmy sends the huge fighting machine into battle, defending Earth against a never-ending assault by hostile aliens and enemy robots.

Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Dear Swoop,

I hated " Some Mothers Do Have Them" !

" Francie and Josie " was dead funny when we were all seven or eight. After that, they kept repeating the same jokes. Now they are both doing a double-act up in the clouds. I hope they've changed their schtik ( routine ).

Meanwhile, enjoy this picture of Scotland's " other National Drink ". It's only a matter of time before Irn Bru conquers the world. Coke is on the way out! Ever since they changed the recipe ( which they should never have done ) it's been slipping.

The world does not realise that it was all a plot. We infiltrated the Atlanta HQ years ago. Now that we have turned off half the world to Coke, we'll now move Irn Bru in.

Today Maine, tomorrow the ..............!

There are several outlets where you can purchase Irn Bru in North America. It is considered to be a luxury item ( British Speciality ) and therefore costs about 5 times the normal price!

They also sell it in NZ and OZ. Good luck, if you ever come across any. It contains about a million colourants and flavours banned from 6 continents......but it is the best drink in the world!

cheers,

MoMo

I know a place less than a block away from me where it only costs $1.50 (Canadian) a bottle, MoMo. They have Cadbury Double Decker bars too, which I personally have an affinity for.

MoMo the 'Bru in Belfast is where the unemployed went to pick up their cash. Wisely they spent it on beer, cigarettes and a wee flutter on the Gee Gees, wasting not a penny on the morsels of life. Who needs sex and sustenance when you have the sport of Kings and paupers to indulge you. 'Sally forth and and be all you cannot be'. The motto on every losing betting slip. Oops! I almost forgot dog racing....

The Department of Employment is also known as " The Buroo " ( a corruption of the word ' bureau ' ) in Glasgow. There used to be a lot here, but they are diminishing in number. It really is boom time in the U.K. and some employers can't get men with skills.

Wow!

John Higgins won the World Championship Snooker finals.

This proves that the Scots are the best in the world at poking balls around a table armed with only a

long stick...cue the music!

Dear Top Hat, is Robin's Nest the US version of the lame Brit Sit Com, " Man About the House "?. If this is the case, we didn't get the US version. ( thank God! ) The Brit version was really awful...total crap! The jokes were :

whatever you do, don't tell....!

and

tee,hee, I almost saw a naked girl ( but didn't )

and

aren't boys really stupid?

This sums up the whole era of Sit Coms in the UK. in the 70s and 80s and 90s, etc........
