"with every box"? Perhaps I'm missing something, MoMo?

Re: Nice Things to Talk About

Has my 'free Skuny' been checked for lead paint? 'cause I like to chew on stuff when I get bored...or excited.

Re: Nice Things to Talk About

"with every box"? Perhaps I'm missing something, MoMo?

You have to be a certain age, Cap., to appreciate this one! In the 50s Kellogs used to promote their products by inserting premiums in their boxes of cereals. e.g. I collected all the spacemen, bandsmen, cowboys, dogs, knights, Robin Hood, etc ( all 1.32 scale ) from packets of Corn Flakes. Jim will remember this, I'm sure.

" One free in every box " was the slogan !

Needless to say, like every other young, enthusiastic collector of that era I ate my way through tons of cereal to collect every set I could! There were usually 6 models in a set. The spacemen were great...they all had clear, plastic helmets. The knights were War of the Roses era. The bandsmen were Coldstream Guards. The cowboys were all gunfighters or robbers. The dogs were boring! Robin Hood had Robin, Friar Tuck, Little John, Maid Marion ( a girl figure......boring! ) + a couple of others.

On another note, I see that our little Princie, Harry Windsor, is shooting at Talibans in the news. It's all a bluff! He's really at Pinewood Studios, on the 007 set, and CGI has done the rest! He keeps firing that damned 50 cal, but you don't see anyone shooting at him, do you?

He's really on this Forum, and keeps posting under the name " Skunky "!
