Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast?

I know this one is shooting for the stars as far as a wish list goes, but I really like the looks of some of the aircraft that took part in the Spanish Civil War. It was testing ground for many aircraft manufacterurs prior to WWII. The aircraft at the early stages of the war really are some of my favorites. The Spanish Civil War period would also lend itself to some interesting paint schemes. The following are some I think would look fairly sharp in diecast:

Germany
Dornier Do 17E
Heinkel He 51B or C
Heinkel He 111E
Heinkel He 112B
Henschel Hs 123
Junkers Ju 52/3m (With the lower gun position)
Junkers Ju 87A
Bf 109A, B, C, or D variant

Italian
Breda Ba 65
Cant Z-501
Fiat Br 20
Fiat Cr 32
Fiat G 50
Savoia-Marchetti S.M. 79

Netherlands
Fokker DXXI

Most of these aircraft would also have potential paint schemes for the early part of WWII.

Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast?

Just thought of a couple of more planes I would like to see made. The Avro Anson and the Lockheed Hudson would make an interesting addition to a collection. The Anson would be as sharp looking model with all those windows, which would lend itself to some great detail potential. Since Corgi is putting out the Bristol Blenheim this year, who knows maybe there is a chance for one of these two. Hudson would have the greater chance of the two in my opion, but would still like to see the Anson in diecast.

Cruver - I've never heard of half of the planes you have been listing off! I feel really ignorant! Are you making these up? LOL

My interest in WWII aviation history really lies just prior to and in the early days of the war. These aircraft did not have the polish of those that followed and were on the verge not getting it just quite right. At times you have to wonder what were these men thinking of when they took some of these planes up into combat. The Vickers Vildebeest in Singapore going into combat and pitted up against early Zeros and Oscars, shoot the Vildebeest makes the Fairey Swordfish almost look streamlined. I like the unsung heroes who went up against impossible odds and on the rare occasion sometimes came out on top.

Lanslide, CC owns a treasure chest of vintage publications so he's plugged into all the cool stuff that has faded into history.

I for one second the Avro Anson. It's actually in my top 5 of British planes.

The He 51 is also a great choice. It features one of my favorite colors of all time, RLM 03. (or maybe it's RLM 61, I forget). Anyway mid-'30's Luftwaffe green grey. The most gorgeous color ever!!!!

That has to be one of the sharper looking biplanes in the mid 30s.

Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast?

Float planes are another type aircraft I would like to see more of in diecast. So far FM has the Rufe, Marushing has the Willow on floats, and Corgi has the Swordfish and Ju 52 float plane variants. To be honest there are quite a few better looking float planes that could be put out. Here is a list of some that come to mind:

United States
Curtiss SO3C-1 - SO3C-4 Seamew (Not one of my top 10, but just a thought)
Grumman J2F-1 - JuF-6 Duck (Lots of neat paint schemes)
Grumman F4F-3S Wildcat (Molds for Wildcat are already out there)
Vought OS2U-1 -OS2U-3 Kingfisher
* If they ever did the Helldiver that to had a test bed float plane version and Cruver made an ID model of this variant.

German
Arado Ar 196 (This would probably be first on my float plane whish list.)
Heinkel He 115 (And this might rank number 3 on my float plane wish list.)

Britain
Spitfire Mk Vb Type 355 float plane conversion (Another one where the molds are already out there for tweaking).

Japan
Aichi E13A1 Jake (Probably be number 2 on my float plane wish list.)
Aichi E16A1 Zui-un Paul
Aichi M6A1 Sieran (Not one of my top picks, but still a nice looking float plane)
Kawanishi N1K1 Kyofu Rex
Mitsubishi F1M2 Pete (This could possibly be a tie between this and the Arado Ar 196 for my first choice in float planes.)

Just curious if there are any float planes other members might like to see done in diecast?
