Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast?

There seems to be a lot of interest in the B-29 in 1:72 scale. For me, that's just too big. The Stirling would be the largest I'd wish to entertain. I'd still like to see a 3 finned Manchester first though! (I know, I know -- I sound like a busted record)

If the I had a choice between the 3 finned Manchester and a B-29, well I would have to say the choice would be easy. I would be one of the first in line to snatch up the Manchester.

Wink Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast?

Thought of two more aircraft I would like to see done up in diecast. The Blohm und Voss BV.141B and the Focke Wulf Fw 189 would make an interesting pair sitting next to each other. Both offer some of the more interesting aircraft greenhouses and potential for some extensive detailing. The BV 141 with its asymmetrical design would really stand out in a collection.

I would love the FW189, but would definitely favor the HS126 (you mentionned previously) over the BV141...

Thumbs up Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast?

1/72 Helldiver please! (I'm talking to you Hobby Master!) Three tone and dark sea blue. We've got Wildcats, Hellcats, Corsairs, Dauntless's's's, Avengers...What's the missing main ingredient to our 1/72 diecast carrier forces? The Helldiver! I don't care how hard the 1/1 plane was to control, I don't have to fly it, I just have to put the model on a stand and place it on a shelf.

I also want an A26 Invader. Bigger than a fighter, but certainly not the biggest diecast ever made. I just love it. Got to have it.

I TOTALLY share your enthousiasm for the "Beast" and the fabulous A26 !

The only reason why I haven't mentionned them in my list, is that HM will probably make the first, and EI (and HM too ?) the second...

The SB2C had been the most numerous dive bomber of the USN, and its most potent carrier borne attack aircraft until the introduction of the Skyraider.

I need at least 1 USN SB2C3, 1 FN SB2C5, 1 A26B and 1 A26C (silver and black) !

This is a fun exercise in futility that helps us vent what we like but...until a proper poll is set up (as discussed in the pub thread "Poll Positions") we will never know what planes have a chance of being made. We need a long list to pick from and then we need to pick and see what the statistics indicate.

Maybe it is time to float the poll thread up and see if anyone bites.

That's a good one Cruver! Didn't we have that funeral?

Yep, I think I do remember a toe tag being involved with that one.

I have to go on record as being very much in favour of this poll. But -- the eternal skeptic inside wants to know if the manufacturers are going to pay any attention. I assume 'the pooch' may pay attention (somewhat) to the UK version of our forum, but do the HMs of the world look in here? Do we know if the pooch does as well? If we knew that for sure, I'd feel better about knowing that our efforts aren't just a bunch of 'diecast foamers' creating another go-nowhere wish list.

That said, I'd participate regardless!!
