Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast?

The question was "In diecast" not "carved wood", besides who has that kind of money for one model? Heck it ain't even a bomber, nope no way to justify that expense. No I'm all for a solid built Stearman and others form the same era to come out. But we shall see.

Obviously DeAgostini's new biplane series has serious quality issues, so I'm not necessarily endorsing it. However a 1:72 scale Stearman was the first one they put out and is probably available via ebay. I've had decent results redoing their Mitsubishi F1M "Pete" and Curtiss Hawk III but these can never match models made by Hobby Master or Corgi.

This is a diecast forum, but we talk of plastic also. Sorry, Shawn, just trying to be helpful.

A Stearman in both US Army and US Navy colors for one. Next to the T6, every US pilot got some stick time with it. I don't know who would be brave enough to do it, but it would be great if HM did. I suppose you could also do some post war barnstorming / farm birds with the mold too, not that I'd want one. Also, the pre-war US Army / Navy bi-planes would be great. But we've had that discussion already. Lastly, I'm in the mood for a late war bare metal B-24 from the ETO.

Oh i would love a 1:48 diecast Stearman in both US Army & US Navy colors then i get a custom on done of this stunt plane...
Now this one is is priceless.....

Thumbs up Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast?

Many exciting proposals indeed, especially the He 177, C46 and IAR-80...!

However, I think the priority should go to the followings (20 types) :

1/72 :
Me 410
He 115
Ar 234
Ar 196
Ju 188
A 20
Ventura
Beaufort
Albacore
Fulmar
Firefly
Potez 631/63-11
Nakajima J1N

1/48 :
D520
MS 406
Ki 44
Ki 100
H75/P36
P63
Tempest

1/32 : Would take far too much space in my modest flat...

I'd really like to add these to my 1:72 collection:

-- B-17c/d (polished metal or olive USAAF)
-- P-39 Air Cobra (olive drab USAAF)
-- C-46 Commando
-- Manchester
-- Bristol Blenheim Mk I (Night Fighter)
-- Short Stirling
-- Airspeed Envoy

That would tickle me pink!
