| Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast? When it comes to Soviet fighters the early LaGG-3 rarely seems to make the conversation. Lots on the Polikarpov, Yak, Mig and later Lavochin fighters but not much about the earlier LaGG-3. It is a sharp looking fighter even though performance was somewhat lacking. It would make for a neat looking diecast model and is small enough to be pulled off in 1/48th scale. Nice variety of paint schemes to include one in Finish colors and another captured one in Japanese markings. Probably never be seen in diecast, but a good looking fighter. | |||||||||||||

| Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast? The fact that IL-2 still hasn't been done by a decent model maker speaks volumes about the possibility of having any WWII "Red Star" plane being made. To add an insult to an injury, there is a Chinese compnay called IST that makes good quality and affordable 1:43 models (way better than Russian and Ukranian handbuillts) of the Eastern Block native post-WWII car designs. I don't think that anyone will disagree that the Soviets didn't set the world on fire with their automotive prowess (with exception of heavy trucks like KAMAZ, URAL, and ZIL), but their aircraft designs did. Oh well, I'll stop ranting at this point, at least JETs guys will have their picking with various MiGs and SUs. Regards, Sergey | |||||||||||||

| Re: What WWII planes would you like to see in diecast? Good to be back, but did find at neat thread on the UK forum. Definitely was interesting seeing what the folks on the other side of the pond would like to see put out in die cast. I thought you might have seen some of the lesser know aircraft, but for most part that was not the case. Did see the Fairey Battle several times which was nice to see it has some support. Overall not many taps on Italian or French aircraft either. Did see a couple of references to one of my favorites, the Fokker D XXI. | |||||||||||||
