| Nukes, Bears, Backfires and things that glow in the dark Doing some research on earthquakes, I came across a reference to the "Tsar Bomba", the largest ever nuclear device to be detonated/tested (in 1961), with a yield of approx. 50 Megatons (yield was deliberately reduced from an estimated 100 Megatons via means of deliberate technical design intervention).
