Re: Flower Arranging for Men

How about this for a Scottish Beauty, Shawn? Everyone in Scotland lives, at the very least, a few hours drive from beauties like this :

Re: Flower Arranging for Men

Wow, Timbo,

you got a pic of the cast from " Rab C. Nesbitt", an old Scottish comedy show. You won't believe this ( but it is the gospel truth ). The lady on the extreme right is called Barbara Rafferty and not only do I know her, but she lived next door to me for years, through the 70s, 80, and up till the mid-nineties.

She's in a terrible Scottish Soap-Opera now, and no doubt raking it in.

It's a small world!

Very Passive, Meek and Mild PC MoMo

Rab C Nesbitt's one of my dad's favorite shows. I think (although not confirmed) that it reminded him somewhat of his Dad. He was a born an bread in Glasgow, working down the mines as a lad, before moving south working on constructing the Mulberry harbours in Portsmouth during the War. We visited the house where he was born when I was about 7 (1975?). it had obviously been part of some terrace, but was now one of only 2 houses remaining in a sea of rubble - v.depressing and I remember it clearly to this day. Also remember driving past the ship yards there - full of building - How times change.

What was the other show the actor that played Rab was in - about a steamer captain sailing round Scotland?

Ooops!

Dear Timbo,

The show which you are looking for is called " Tales of Para Handy ", starring Gregor Fisher. The show is about the captain and crew of a puffer ( a small, steam cargo vessel with a shallow draught ) whch used to ply its trade round the seas and waterways of the Highlands and Islands carrying just about every type of cargo immaginable.

Go to this site for intel and clips from the show :

Very Helpful and Kind PC MoMo

After a day of this, Skunky, you'll never eat steak again!

...I don't think I ever want to eat anything else again!...

Heaaay, I didn't know that she was Scottish, very nice. She and her movie sisters were the only thing to ease my suffering when I had to watch Bride & Prejudiced with my Ex.

Very bold, sexist, non-PC Admin
Sorry Momo, the temptation was too great.

Re: Flower Arranging for Men

I have a Scots side to my family and I have to be carefull what I say about the Scots or I get duffed up. My sister in law is about 5 foot tall weighs about 6 stone and frightens me to death. A red haired tempest when she gets going. Scottish women are a tough and hardy breed and definatly not to be argued with.
I just had a terrifying thought MO, what if some one bred an army of Scots/Yorks women!!!! Crikey they would rule the world.

God Bless America.
