The Great Santini is a great movie...but the Phantoms needed more face time!

Re: Flower Arranging for Men

I really liked BlueThunder and Iron Eagles then that one with John Travolta Broken Aero. And I always wondered why they didn't meld knight Rider's "KIT" technology with AirWolfs modified Bell 222 helicopter. Though Blue Thunder still has me hanging as to why it was nessary to have a train destroy the machine? I know whe couldn't use Jan Michael Vincent now days as he's kind of messed up. But I'd like to see Earnest Borgnighn even in Macails Navy!!!!Alph

Just curious,jim-o; were those shows dubbed into British so you guys could understand?......or did they go with sub-titles?

Look! We're back on the air!

Keep it NICE and Nice!

Here are some non-political pics of the site ( Tom-Tom's site ) which I posted the link to over on the Presentation area if you want to find out more. These are card buildings which make a very effective display area for next to no cost. You can download the plans if you get to the site. I think that they are an effective, cheap and easy to assemble solution to displaying 1.144 planes and AFVs.

Re: Flower Arranging for Men

I have got to say thanks guys! up till now I have not read though this thread as its title put me off some what! but now having done so I must admit to being amused and it was also nice to have my memory jogged about shows that I had completely forgotten about. Rawhide was my favourite cowboy show when I was a kid also liked Wagon train but it clashed with a show my mother watched so in the days before video only got to see it every now and again.Shows from the USA were far better than we got from the BBC. Just a few more that have come to mind while reading this, does anyone remember Highway Patrol or Tug Boat Annie? One last thing the talk about Robin Hood the one with Richard Green also reminded me of the actor Archie Duncan.who after he retired and as a very old man I used to see him a lot when taking his little dog for a walk he was without doubt a Gentile Giant and such a very nice guy...........

Re: Flower Arranging for Men

Here's your link Alph :

Check out the " PRESENTATION " area for more pics under " 1.144 Card Buildings " Flyxwire is also keen on the site and is planning to do a project. You should swop ideas!

Cheers, Johnnyboy,

I used to watch all those shows ( if I could con my mother into letting me stay up late! ) Happy days!

" Tugboat Annie" was quite funny. " Highway Patrol" with Broderick Crawford was great! He was such a believable character.

Thanks for the info on Archie Duncan. He was a great character actor who must have been in about 100 1950s B movies and countless BBC sunday serials! As you said, a gentle giant.
