Re: 300

Sorry Harry , .......I find MH2 too restrictive and regimentive, which spoils some otherwise cracking reads...

Lofty,
The whole idea behind this forum is to provide a comfortable, family oriented forum in which we can discuss our hobby.. Folks also have to remember that this is a privately owned forum and the members here are "guests" of the owner, to whom he has extended a FREE invitation to come here, chat freely, and have a good time, but also follow the rules..
A simple example is if I came to your house to visit.. I have respect for your family and your belongings, we have a good time, chat a while, and enjoy the time we spend together until the next time I visit.. That is all Gavin asks of us and I am grateful to have this forum as a place to come to..

Unfortunately, in this world of the anonymous "interweb", we think we can go where we want, say what we want, and answer to no one.. That is just not the case.. Many forums have rules much more strict than this one, and to say the mods here are too restrictive, I think is a little much..

I am proud of the job the moderators do here and I give huge props to Gavin for providing support to the moderators, which is something I never had on the old forum..

I really enjoyed 300, but I had to keep in mind I was there purely for the entertainment factor.... I would recommend this movie just because it has to be seen on the big screen.. Watching it on the tele just wouldn't be the same...

Re: 300

Skunky,

you're in danger! Those Spartan fellows had some peculiar ideas. If they hadn't been bloodthirsty killers, they might have taken up interior decorating.

MoMo, your comments and those of Lofty sum up the movie pretty well. I watched it last night and clearly will be in the minority with my opinion, but I thought it was utter drivel with few redeeming qualities whatsoever ...

Thumbs up Re: 300

Great film on a great subject, with plenty of action, historical references, military virtues and healthy European patriotism.

If only it could make today's European peoples aware of the necessity of opposing the current invasion of the continent...

Such a film couldn't have been made in masochist-PC EU.

If it had, the Greeks would have been depicted as monsters, and the Persian as the good guys !

Re: 300

I liked this movie. Made in an old warehouse in Montreal with 12 actors.
Took a little getting used to but the action soon drew me into the story.
Much better that the original.
