Jim, you make me want to jump on a plane and come visit ;-) But I don't know that i could stand the excitement!

Hot tip, While you are here why not go to the Hobbit pub, I quote, Dont miss the Co-op brass band and free pie and pea supper at the Hobbit tonight.

Or you could go to the lecture about the history of wallpaper at the Square chapel Halifax.

Or you could take in a Nostalgic film of Halifax made by the Halifax Amateur film club in 1969. Tickets available at the door, but arrive early to avoid dissappointment!

Or for single people only, how about this , A walk around Scammonden dam.

Or Whist drive and tea dance at the Forest cottage community center.

Maybe this more in your taste, Line dancing classes at the Halifax photographic society ? Huh,dont ask me ?

Meanwhile in the hamlet of Brighouse you could go to the Punch Bowl in to see if the long awaited draught ale has arrived, it seems the cellar was flooded and the ale cannot be delivered until Yorkshire water company give the all clear.

Steady boy , how about this one, Victorian tea cosies , a talk to be given at the local womens guild. (thats a must see).

Or at the Hove Edge bowling club you can join in the community singing where Mr Mark Broadbent is going to sing a collection of songs himself and call the Bingo! Followed by......

Tuesday for one day only at 7pm The singing postman Malcom Harris is going to sing along with his wife Janice his daughter Deborah and (would you believe) her 3 week old son.

At the leisure center on friday, Aerobics for young ladies, (dont forget you Battison number fours ladies ), bring your own towel.

All the above are taken from tonights local newspaper and show that we Yorkies know had to let our hair down and have a good time.

Global warming seems a popular rant these days, frankly I reckon it's a load of cow poop as there is no evidence that the temperature differences are beyond the normal variations in long term statistics. The nuclear lobyists are the main jokers pushing this barrow and I bet Montgomery Burns is behind most of it.

Another fact that the "experts" haven't taken into account is that the population densities of the areas where most of the weather stations are situated is getting higher and consequently so have the temperatures. The fact is that more people and more buildings and infrastructure generates and retains more heat in the area, resulting in progressively higher readings. It's a recognised fact that cities get hotter the larger they grow.

Okay, here's my rant...How the hell did I end up in the U.K.?...I went to bed in Maine and when I woke up and opened my beady little eyes I found myself back in "the old country".....It's really not bad here though...No snow...maybe I'll stick around a while...Hey, will one of you chaps be good enough to bring me a spot of tea?

How's life in North Carolina treatin' ya, Aircrafty?...Goin' to any NASCAR races this year?.....

Cheerio...

Hi Skunky, I had to google North Carolina to see where it is. I guess the climate there isn't bad for the US, but snow on coastal areas just don't seem right to me. Nazcar racing is bit to boring, I prefer car racing with more variety like rallying etc.

Thanks for the round trip to New York City admin, I didn't even know you could rent a motel room by the hour. And those nice cab drivers showing you the sites in the city with such colorful language, always waving a greeting other drivers.

Ha!!! At least most of you are in a "normal" place ,even if far from home. I'm in Area 51! (now let's see, if I close my eyes and tap my heels together three times, while saying "there's no place like home........)
