Warbird Favorites

Arado Ar.196 would make a nice addition in that there is little attention to floatplanes. This one is a recognition model in 1/50th scale and is really not to big. Would look good in either 1/72nd or 1/48th scale ( Yes, really good in 1/32nd scale). The plane has fairly unique cowling and also a nice greenhouse. That and paint schemes could be based on some of the Capital ships planes were assigned to.

Re: Warbird Favorites

Could use some more biplanes too. Hear some interest in CR 42 and think it would look great next to the Gladiator. This one is a Cruver in 1/72nd scale and is tiny.

Re: Warbird Favorites

The Westland Whilwind is one I have yet to here come up. Fairly sharp looking plane and also fairly small. This is also another Cruver.

Re: Warbird Favorites

The Hampden is another one you do not hear to much on. Would look good sitting next to early war Wellington. Cruver and Wiking in the picture.

Re: Warbird Favorites

Nice group of planes. I really like the SM 79 and need more trimotors. ME 210/410 definitely would look good in either 1/72nd or even 1/48th scale. I think the FW 198 probably has one of the nicer greenhouses and would make a really interesting model. Sukhoi SU-2,,, plain vanilla, but nice greenhouse. The Blohm und Voss Bv. 138,,, now that would be one chunk of metal in any scale.

Re: Warbird Favorites

Another one that might not look to bad would be the Hudson. Fairly small and would not rule out 1/48th scale.

Re: Warbird Favorites

The Manchester may have been a flop, but sure looked good (Ok it was a flop). Nice size for 1/72nd scale though.

Re: Warbird Favorites

The Devastator would definitely be a nice addition. Nice preware paint schemes to go with its short lived service time. Like the corrigated wings.
