Make your own Collection

Hi guys,
Since Hand carved models are so spendy I make my own! For less than $5.00 I can make a model that could be one of a kind any day of the week. The following is a photo of a holding area for my projects.
I even have a BD -5J I've been working on still trying to figure out a paint scheme for it. This has saved me alot of cash in the long run and is very relaxing on the weekends between house chores!!!! Alph

Re: Make your own Collection

In order to do that Alph, one must have talent, which you appear to have plenty of ...

(I wouldn't even venture an attempt at hand-carving .)

Re: Make your own Collection

Hi Starman,
Is that a Pacific Models or a Griffin Aerospace? Mahogany or Composite? And YES sure that qualifies as hand made at some point in it's life! They are fun to collect I do have some I bought in Seattle a newer civilian aircraft Beech King Air 350. But I'm no likely to buy any more. Here is a Rare Kmax helicopter showing how it's built. I think alot of this group would pick up the technique very quickly Alph

Re: Make your own Collection

I have no idea who made the mold....I just painted it up and put the Cripes A Mighty decals on it...
I found this in a yard sale for $1.00 and it was a ugly OD green color before.
As for what kind of wood it is i have no idea maybe Mahogany but not sure.
After doing this i ended up repainting a 21st Century Toys 1/18 P-51D Mustang and painted it the same way as Preddy 'Cripes A Mighty".
It turned out good too..

Re: Make your own Collection

I wish I had the skills to do that. Great work.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Make your own Collection

Very nice, Alph. I myself made a large wood Fokker Dr I a number of years ago, had a lot of fun doing it!
