Re: Are the current Hurricane molds good enough?

1250ships - totally with you on the CAM Hurricane brother! I'd love one. Got any more pics? They're rare as the proverbial hens teeth...

As for the Hurricane casting, I'm happy with my Corgis which is one of their best 'old' castings in my book. I'd like someone to do the IIC cannon Hurricane. FOV's casting is good, but the liveries have been rather low quality and innaccurate. Some FOV repaints I've done demonstrate the potential...

Very nice bit of re-working no.4. I'm very happy with my Corgi Hurricanes but I feel that Gemini can deliver similiar quality schemes to the ones that you have done. I got rid of my two FOVs as IMHO they were not a patch on the Corgis.

Re: Are the current Hurricane molds good enough?

I've always thought your Russian Hurri was awesome No4! Didn't you sell that bad boy on ebay? Sounds like most are happy with the current molds, save for going with an improvement on FOV's cannon version. I agree with others that Gemini could give us some excellent Hurris and some great schemes similar to No4's awesome repaints! But like Ships mentioned most companies probably wouldn't jump on this mold, as it may not give them the best return on their investment.

Nice re-works. I just got my first FOV Hurricane and I think it is pretty good considering the price.

Here is another Hurricat shot:

Thanks easy8. Yup, sold it but not many bids. Turned out several people held off bidding out of courtesy to other forumites (here and UK forum)...

Re: Are the current Hurricane molds good enough?

I think they are good enough. I have several Hurricanes from Corgi, Easy Model and FOV and with the exception of the gear, Corgi steals the show.

FOV landing gear is much better. I think No4 should start taking orders for Hurricanes actually! I'd love to have something like that. Very nice job. I'd never seen the second one although I do recall the sale of the Russian one.

...respect for other forumites?? Bah! What's that Ivan Drago said?

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

Re: Are the current Hurricane molds good enough?

However, should Dragon or Gemini do that, how many folks would drop the $30.00 on a bird they already have several of?

Since the Corgi black-version night fighter costs a pretty penny, I have the FOV's version, and although not as good, for the $8.95 I spent for it at Target, the other $$$ can go for more diecasts!
