| King & Country takes off King & Country made some large model aircraft several years ago that are now highly collectable, and they are now planning a new squadron. King and Country are well known for their highly detailed 1/30 scale (60 mm) military figures and vehicles, and the new aircraft range will complement these fine pieces. I've been pleased to note that this company have made continued improvements to their models over the years. To the degree that they are now the standard by which other military figure manufacturers in 1/32 - 1/30 scale are measured. Please note that the following two aircaft models are actually workshop models and not factory made examples as they have not yet entered into series production. These two models are hand made and only five of each were produced. The company is now working on a much more affordable “Warbird” series that will be “factory-built” and, I hope, more affordable to the general collector. Btw, I've heard a rumour that a Fiesler Storch may also be in the new range, which I'm sure will please many. With the apparent demise of Corgi 1/32 for a while, it's pleasing to see more biggies on the horizon. Note that the figures are made by King & Country, who also produce the Delprado range. They are in 1/30 scale (60 mm high) and are for size reference only. What do you guys think of them? | Re: King & Country takes off Oh this would mean another hit to the credit card if it is true. Just have to have a 1/30/32 Typhoon. Wonder if they come with a stand? | |||||||||||||

| Re: King & Country takes off Aircrafty, is the King & Country range going to be die-cast or plastic? It would be great to see someone (high quality) stepping up to the plate to fill the vacuum left by Corgi in 1/32 ... ![]() | |||||||||||||

| Re: King & Country takes off I'd ge those in a heartbeat, but just one comment: if possible, for production models, go with engraved panel lines rather than painted (finely engraved, that is...). I'd buy them as is, though, assuming the price is not too outrageous. And on the Me-110, I would prefer a night-fighter version. I would definitely get that (though 1/48 would be a more reasonable size for that aircraft). FVD | |||||||||||||

| Re: King & Country takes off Hi guys, the "workshop" aircraft models pictured are handmade from timber and plastic parts and were a very limited edition (five of each model made). King & Country have not yet indicated the material that the "factory" made versions will be constructed from, but I feel that a complete plastic or diecast model is unlikely. Most of their military vehicles are made from "polystone" which is a compound made from resin and calcium carbonate (marble dust). The detail parts are usually made from plastic and/or resin. "Polystone" is a heavy material which would make freight on 1/30 aircraft rather expensive if that material is used. I suspect the manufacturers are considering a number of alternative materials at this stage, and I will let you guys know when I find out what the verdict is. A price range has not been indicated to date. However I could say with some confidence that the factory range is likely to sell for more than the aircraft in the Corgi 1/32 range. However the King & Country "factory" aircaft will be issued in much lower numbers than the Corgi 1/32 models were. The models will be made in Kong Kong but their dealership base is worldwide. The US is their major market so I feel sure they will be available to US customers and others. I noted the comment suggesting engraved panel lines rather than painted lines and will pass that on to the manufacturer. | |||||||||||||
