Funny story about 1:18th scale Plagerism!!

Hi All.
In my search for these huge 1:18th scale models I found myself at a Hobbytown. Normally I don't go into LHS as their too stuffy and I'm not ready to begin RC "YET" So my wife and I were walking into this shop and seen this guy approaching with his Corsair I believe it was a BBI. I just wanted to see what he was gonna tell me about it and I exclaim where did you get that huge model? He gets all self assured and "Says I built it." I look at my wife and say WOW I've been looking for something this big. He says their imported! Then I notice the WA on the tail and could tell it is a Common run of BBI's. I've seen this in other scales at model shows where all they really did was put the model on Grass matt and display it and always get best of show. I HATE THAT!!! Almost like me telling you all I built my Korean Mig 15 only to see it in the next thread how do you hang your models??? Very Risky and verry Low Class

I have heard the same thing being said and I just laugh. I have taken HHH and Marines Dream to a few of my local model shows and put them on display and some have said they are impressed with my modeling skills. I correct them by saying that they are made by BBI and not by me. I'm good at building models but not that good. You might say that I'm promoting BBI's products for them, a sales rep so to speak. I did let them know that I have added extra detail here and there but I'm always honest and up front with people by telling them I had nothing to do with making these planes.
