Does anyone collect Airsoft replicas?

This is a M2 Carbine by Marushin. I'm curious if this is the same Marushin that makes those elusive 48th scale diecast models.

A friend of mine collects these and they are fantastic looking. Plus, their just fun to play with. I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with these.

Here is a little demo footage.

Re: Does anyone collect Airsoft replicas?

I have a M-4 with M203 Grenade Launcher. Also got a silencer that is a tracer unit. You can shoot glow in the dark bb's and the unit lights them up.The M4 shoots semi or fully auto. Grenade hold 165 bb's .Also added a armour scope to it .Fun gun to play with.Damn close to the real thing in looks. Friend of mine got a glock pistol that is gas that shots fully auot or semi. Slide moves back and everything.

Airsoft or real?

A kid at our local High School was almost shot by the School's Resource Officer a couple of weeks ago when he brought the Airsoft replica that is in the top of your photo to school. He brought it in his car and was waving it around showing it off to classmates.

I saw it and spoke with the officer who confiscated it and he said it was VERY authentic and looked/operated almost exactly like the police version of the real weapon.

Needless to say, they are an excellent copy of the real thing.

They are, but the ones shown in my pic are genuine.

The CAR-15 is a Colt semi-auto and the M-1 Carbine is a Winchester.

Re: Does anyone collect Airsoft replicas?

Can't tell if this question has been answered: Yes, the self-same Marushin manufactures air-gun replicas and 1/48 scale diecast metal aircraft. Take a look at their website:

Slick TopHat, I'm envious.

As can be seen by Planecrazy's pic it is a dead-ringer (aside from the grenade launcher). Even in your hands the Airsoft gun looks and feels like the real thing.

Re: Does anyone collect Airsoft replicas?

Yes, an Airsoft in the wrong hands (i.e., a child's hands) would be a police officer's nightmare. Can you imaging how he/she would have felt had the student been shot as a result? Scary.
