Re: Can a store do this?

I also put in an order for an aircraft during the sale on that website. From the day I ordered it to the day the money left my account was 7 days. Has anyone else ever had to wait that long for their account to be charged?

[quote=PappyB;91078]Generally this is likely true, but this particular vendor I've found charges very reasonable shipping rates.[/quot

Perry wants $25 dollars to ship a Corgi 1/32 plane. I don't think this is even close to reasonable.

Re: Can a store do this?

His shipping prices seem fair to me i was charged 12.00 UPS for a 1:72 Lancaster "G for George" ...
It took only 2 days to get to me ....Of course he is also only one state away from me is why i got it so fast.

Exclamation Re: Can a store do this?

The insight I offer my clients is to CLEARLY MARK that the price is for 'online orders only' on their web site. If regular price applies to in-store purchases -- say so -- or suffer the wrath. The 'wrath' here today is several people are grousing about Perry's lax business practises which is leaving a sour taste in the mouth. Not good. I too was considering a purchase, but since I am in Canada, my perception is I'll be gouged on the shipping charges. You can be assured I'll be thinking this over very seriously before ordering anything from this guy. I can -- and will -- keep looking, for preferably, a local supplier, as I'm in no fat rush.

Reputations go both ways. Hire amateurs or half-wits to do your web communications, you reap what you sow. (*finger-wag*)

On the other hand, act like a pro and honour your prices -- solid customer loyalty follows -- and I personally know more dealers that fall into this camp -- thank goodness.

Yes it once took Pete's 2 weeks to proces an order of mine. I'd completely forgotten about it when it arrived.

I would backup what Starman said. I've ordered form him twice. Both times I have had exceptional service, although I have phoned up both time's as I don't like their web site, and still got the special web pricing. The shipping I had was $10 for my first order - a CC B17, and then $25 for the second which was Stuka, B25 and the Black cat.

Yes shipping was a LOT more than the mule would have done (which for both these orders would have been free), but only the black cat would have been available from them or anywhere else I know, and the item cost for that would have been considerably more expensive at the Mule (I seem to remember a $10 difference in Perry's favor), so all in all I feel got a reasonable deal. The only other source I know for these items would have been ebay, and shipping from there would have been similar or more than Perry's charged, and I would have got 2nd hand items.

Ooops!

and that's quite disconcerting for a customer. I sat there wondering 'did my order go through' for a week. Does Perry ship by UPS, FedEx, or USPS? I cannot recall.

Cannot be 100% sure, but I seem to remember it's either Fedex or UPS.
